Ferry Info
Reservations may be purchased in advance at the link below. Visitors do not need to choose a return time when booking ferry tickets. You may leave the Island on any ferry you choose, no reservation required.
Ferries operated by the Trust for Governors Island run daily from the Battery Maritime Building, located at 10 South Street in Lower Manhattan. Scroll down for schedules and to purchase tickets in advance. Evening ferries are available for Island tenants and registered guests—including visitors with reservations for QC NY, Gitano, and Collective Retreats. Click the green "Show Evening Ferry Schedule" button to view evening ferries.
In addition, NYC Ferry serves Governors Island daily on the South Brooklyn Route, with stops on the Lower East Side, Wall Street and along the Brooklyn waterfront. For schedules, pricing and more information, visit their website: ferry.nyc.
Seasonal weekend Brooklyn ferry service operated by the Trust for Governors Island from Red Hook and Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park will return in Spring/Summer 2023.

NYC Ferry
South Brooklyn Route
NYC Ferry normally serves Governors Island daily on the South Brooklyn route, with stops at Sunset Park, Red Hook, Yankee Pier on Governors Island, Atlantic Ave/Brooklyn Bridge Park-Pier 6, Wall Street/Pier 11, DUMBO/Fulton Ferry and Corlears Hook on the Lower East Side. NYC Ferry’s South Brooklyn route is temporarily bypassing Governors Island due to planned maintenance. During this time, Trust for Governors Island-operated ferries continue to run daily every half hour from the Battery Maritime Building. NYC Ferry riders traveling to Governors Island from Brooklyn can take the ferry to Wall Street/Pier 11 and transfer to Trust-operated ferries at 10 South Street.
NYC Ferry tickets must be purchased in advance of boarding and are $4 each way.

Boarding and Riding the Ferry
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to your ferry departure time with your ticket ready to display on your smartphone or printed for inspection.
Visitors are required to wear face coverings at all times while queueing, boarding, riding, and disembarking Governors Island ferries. All Trust-operated ferry tickets are round trip; visitors are not required to select a return ferry time at purchase and may leave Governors Island on any ferry.

Additional Ticketing Information
Tickets will be released for additional dates monthly on the first of the month before (July tickets will be released June 1, etc.).
We are unable to process refunds for any ticket reservation. Any changes to your reservation must be made 48 hours in advance of your departure time, after which point we are unable to process adjustments. For changes to your reservation please email ferrytickets@govisland.org.
Reservations are limited to 40 tickets per transaction. Those wishing to visit with more than 40 people should email groupvisits@govisland.org at least two weeks in advance of their visit.
The Trust for Governors Island offers waived fares for non-profit community-based organizations, youth camps, and senior centers throughout New York City, subject to availability. To inquire about special group visits, organizations may email groupvisits@govisland.org at least two weeks in advance of their requested visit date.

We recommend that all visitors, including those who are eligible for a free fare, reserve tickets in advance through the ticket reservation system.
The departure time on your ticket is the ferry time where your spot is reserved. If you want to leave before or after that time, you will need to enter the standby line, as spots on other ferries will be first-come, first-served.
Tickets can be scanned directly from your smart phone. However, if you prefer to print the tickets and bring them with you, the paper copy is acceptable for scanning as well.
Visitors are not guaranteed a spot on any ferry that is earlier or later than the departure time listed on their ticket. If you arrive earlier than your departure time or have missed your designated departure time, available spots on other ferries will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Please proceed to the standby line and our staff will do our best to get you on board if space is available.
We are unable to process refunds for any ticket reservation. Any changes to your reservation must be made 48 hours in advance of your departure time, after which point, we are no longer able to process your request. Dogs do not require separate ferry tickets or reservations. Dogs must ride outside on all Trust for Governors Island operated ferries. As a reminder, dogs are only allowed on Governors Island on Saturdays and Sundays during the winter season. To learn more, click here.
