About Liggett Terrace
The Buildings in the Liggett Terrace District are impressive institutional brick structures on a grand scale which share a common look and feel. Liggett Hall, the centerpiece building of the district, at the southern edge of Colonels Row overlooks Liggett Terrace, is a key feature of the new Park and Public Space of Governors Island. The extensive length of Liggett Hall, designed by acclaimed architects McKim Mead and White, bisects the Island creating a connection between Historic District and new Park.
